Suna’s Daughters team and Girl-Centered Design Support Circle participants were in Mumbai, India, between February 18 and 20 to share experiences with local institutions working for girls.
As part of the program, conducted in collaboration with EMpower Foundation, Suna’s Daughters shared their knowledge and experiences on the collective impact approach, the work of the Girls Advisory Team, and the Girl-Centered Design Model.
During the visit, meetings with the Vacha Charitable Trust team focused on learning about communities' experiences, successful practices, and program models for girls. Information on girls' community initiatives and advocacy campaigns at the Sanjay Nagar Community Center was also gathered.
Vacha is a charitable foundation that focuses on young people living in slums in Mumbai and Thane for a society based on social justice, equality and democracy.
The Girls-Centered Design Support Community continues to work on how spaces, programs and activities can be developed for girls, with girls, based on child safety and child participation. These meetings have again demonstrated how experiences from different geographies can create a common learning space.
Suna’s Daughters has partnered with UNICEF Türkiye to strengthen safe spaces for adolescent girls. Through a cooperation protocol signed by the two organizations, the initiative aims to expand access to physical and digital environments where girls can feel safe, valued, and empowered.
As part of its 20th-anniversary celebrations, the Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation Pera Museum proudly presents two significant exhibitions: MARCEL DZAMA: Dancing with the Moon - With a Little Help From His Friend Raymond Pettibon and SAMİH RİFAT: "Much Is to Be Done" - photographs, films, drawings, poems, notebooks, books, and music… These exhibitions invite visitors to explore the distinct artistic and intellectual worlds of Marcel Dzama and Samih Rifat, offering a captivating journey through contemporary art and cultural heritage.
Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation’s collections, which have been displayed at Pera Museum since its founding, are now accessible online. This digital transformation, aimed at sharing art and cultural heritage with a broader audience, allows exploring 2,510 works from the Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics, Orientalist Painting, and Anatolian Weights and Measures collections through the Istanbul Research Institute's online library.
