Collaboration Between Suna’nın Kızları and Kahramanmaraş Governorship for Children’s Development

Within the scope of the protocol signed between the Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation and the Governorship of Kahramanmaraş, the Children’s Hub activities that Suna’nın Kızları has been carrying out in Pazarcık for the past two years are being moved to the city center of Kahramanmaraş. These neighborhood-, school-, and community-based activities aim to support the protection, empowerment, and access to services of all children, especially girls.

The Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation has signed a cooperation protocol with the Governorship of Kahramanmaraş to support children’s social, emotional, and physical development, and to enhance their access to essential services. The initiative specialises in empowering and protecting girls while benefiting all children.

As part of the protocol, the Children’s Hub activities that Suna’nın Kızları has been running in Kahramanmaraş Pazarcık for the past two years— in partnership with the Ministry of Family and Social Services—will now be relocated to the city center of Kahramanmaraş. The program adopts a holistic, neighborhood-, school-, and community-based approach, aiming to strengthen protection, empowerment, and access to education for all children.

Opened in April 2023 after the February 6 earthquakes, the Children’s Hub in Pazarcık provided two years of workshops and programs for 165 registered children. Topics ranged from physical and emotional well-being to children’s rights, prevention of child, early, and forced marriages, and digital literacy. Through outreach in surrounding container cities and schools, the Hub reached 2,750 children. Awareness-raising sessions were also organized for teachers, parents, and public stakeholders.

With the closure of the container city, activities in Pazarcık have now ended. Under the new protocol, this inclusive and sustainable model will continue in the heart of Kahramanmaraş, expanding its impact and reach.
