The Third Meeting of the Safe Steps Project was Organised in Cooperation with Suna'nın Kızları, Skechers and Şehir Dedektifi

Suna'nın Kızları organised the third meeting of the Safe Steps project in collaboration with Skechers and community stakeholder Şehir Dedektifi. This meeting was hosted by IBB Cibali Neighbourhood House and 17 girls between the ages of 11-14 participated in the two-day event.

In the project, various workshops were organised to help girls discover their needs and create a safe space where they can express themselves. Body Mapping and Fantastic Beasts workshops encouraged children's imagination and allowed girls to use their creativity freely. As a result of these workshops, girls prepared models to redesign the environment they live in in line with their own needs and dreams.

Following the workshops, a discovery tour for girls was organised with a coastal walk in Cibali. During this tour, the participants had the chance to evaluate the neighbourhood through the eyes of girls and rediscovered the environment.

Suna’s Daughters Gather in Şanlıurfa for “The Neighborhoods Supporting Children"

Suna’s Daughters communities continue their efforts in five neighborhoods of Şanlıurfa’s Eyyübiye and Haliliye districts to establish an ecosystem that supports all children, especially girls, in every aspect. By collaborating with teachers, public institutions, and non-governmental organizations, these local communities identify barriers faced by children and take solution-oriented steps to overcome them.
