With the support of Turkish Philanthrophy Funds and in collaboration with community stakeholders, Suna'nın Kızları is starting a new two-year project in Hatay. Suna'nın Kızları came together with community and local stakeholders in May to focus on Hatay's reconstruction process and held the first idea development meeting. At the meeting, they worked on what could be done to bring children together with a community-based social service approach, empower girls as actors of change in this process, and support the child-focused perspective of local communities and decision-makers.
The sixth volume of YILLIK: Annual of Istanbul Studies presents four peer-reviewed articles exploring Istanbul's historical, social, and cultural fabric. Günseli Gürel, winner of the Early Career Article Prize, reevaluates Ottoman narratives about Hagia Sophia from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
On November 22, the Girl-Centered Design Workshop, organized by Suna’s Daughters with the support of the Turkish Philanthropy Funds, brought together public and local government representatives in Hatay. The workshop aimed to develop solutions focused on fostering an inclusive city design centered on the needs, rights, and dreams of girls.
